A comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation can help identify an individual's strengths and areas of struggle. It can provide valuable information regarding how an individual learns, social/emotional functioning, and academic strengths and struggles. Results from assessment can help guide interventions to support and assist the individual in the academic and social setting. They can also be used to diagnose learning disabilities, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), or other emotional disorders such as anxiety or depression. Testing can also be utilized to assist in applying for college test accommodations, including the GRE, MCAT, CBEST, and LSAT.
Comprehensive testing consists of interviews, a thorough record review, cognitive testing, academic achievement testing, and social-emotional/behavioral rating scales, if deemed necessary.
Cognitive or IQ testing may be used to provide identification and documentation for Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) eligibility or MENSA membership.
Mental health is an important part of an individual's overall health and well-being. It impacts how an individual thinks, feels, and acts; as well as how one handles stress, performs in school, relates to or interacts with others, and makes healthy choices.
Individual and group counseling is provided for educationally and work related struggles such as academic/learning difficulties, behavioral struggles, anxiety, depression, social skills, life skills, school motivation, executive functioning, grief and other areas of adjustment.
A safe and non-judgmental space is created so that sessions can be active, engaging, and goal-oriented.
Teletherapy sessions are held from the safety of the clients home at a time that is convenient. Although in-person therapy is sometimes preferred, some individuals are more comfortable being in their own environment where they can relax on the couch and be surrounded by familiarity. It also provides ease for families that are trying to juggle various demands, sibling childcare, etc.
Consultation is provided to schools to assist in improving mental health programs, suicide prevention, assessment and intervention processes, as well as threat assessment protocols and processes.
Trainings are provided to varying levels of school staff to help educate on mental health topics that students currently face, as well as strategies to provide the best support in the classroom setting.
